Employment Recruiters-are they really who they say?

Author: mbc at 24-04-2012, 07:16, Views: 5

To look at employment recruiters, people in search of job see them as some kind of powerful job-offering entity. Certainly, employment recruiters deserve to be one part of your job search. You don't want to look upon them as the main source of your leads though.

As survey after survey has shown, the most consistent way of making the score is usually to go in through a referral – an acquaintance referring you. About one out of three jobs are given to people coming in through referrals. Employment recruiters on the other hand are only able to succeed with one out of 20 new recruits.

When you go with employment recruiters, often, it can feel like they are there working for you – to make your dreams come true. In fact, they work for the company that's hiring you. They're not on your side. They want to work your package down so that they can make their steady client – the company – happy enough that they'll be hired the next time.

By most accounts, on average, every average American who is gainfully employed spends an hour of his life on commute time everyday. That's just the average though. People who live farther away from home, or ones who get to travel through congested arteries, can end up sitting in their car or bus for much longer. In some parts of the country, say California or New York, a four-hour commute everyday is not uncommon.

It's an outrage that there is all this time that you are devoting to doing something for employer (getting yourself to work) and you aren't even compensated for it. In fact, the gas is on your nickel. Wouldn't it be nice if you could at least use this time you sit in your car to help yourself get ahead in life or something? There are all kinds of products out there that help you make the most of your commute time.

For instance, what if you could take a great class by a world-renowned professor – so that you could learn about the world around you? How about a course in astronomy or understanding the stock market or something? You could always wow people at a company party or the meeting or something, throwing up some kind of great piece of knowledge that you've learned.

Author: mbc at 3-04-2012, 10:13, Views: 39

Some people want to work in health care but they have no desire to be a doctor. Earning a PhD takes a long time and can be quite expensive. Being a doctor is also just not something everyone can do or wants to do, no matter how prestigious or well-paying this career can be. There are plenty of other health care careers that can earn decent money, will allow you to care for others, and will be highly satisfying. If you want to go into health care, think about all your options and find the one that seems to be the best fit for you.

Nursing is one of the most popular health care careers out there, and yet there is always a shortage of good nurses. Many who go into nursing want to be nurses because they spend more time in direct care of the patients and that is what they want the most. You can be a licensed practical nurse (LPN) or you can be a register nurse (RN). The first is one year of school and the second can be up to three but also has a higher pay rate. There are specialty nurses as well, which requires more education and then some nurses go on to be nurse practitioners, who can do almost everything a doctor does.
