Great Simple Craft Projects for Kids

Author: Rhoden at 22-01-2012, 09:39, Views: 61

There are always times every now and then when it's cold, wet and miserable outside. And for these days, every parent needs a comprehensive set of activities to keep the children busy. Because if it rains or snows outside and you’re empty-handed while you try to keep your children happy, you won't have time for anything else. Usually, your emergency kid-occupying strategy involves stuff like porcelain painting and Shrinky Dinks – stuff that's ready to use in an antsy-kid emergency. But then, how long are you going to occupy your child with that? Here are a few craft projects for your kids that you can put into action with nothing more than a printer. The crafts themselves can be great fun for the kids, and preparing the supplies needed can be great fun for you.

For instance, how about getting your children to turn everything that usually gets stuck on the refrigerator, into a refrigerator magnet? The children can print baseball schedules, all the phone numbers that need to go on the fridge, artwork – everything – on a fridge magnet. All you need for this are the fridge magnet sheets you get ready-made at any online store. Children’s supplies companies like Avery make them, and you get a magnet sheet for two dollars.

Action Figures Were the Bulk of My Toys Growing Up

Author: Rhoden at 9-01-2012, 13:56, Views: 45

I had my fair share of toys growing up, and the bulk of them, as well as the ones I enjoyed the most, were always action figures. I had a variety of such toys, including He-Man, G.I. Joe and Star Wars action figures, and I noticed that my collection of those toys only grew as the years went by.

Of all of my action figures growing up, He-Man was my absolute favorite. I like the way the action figures were shaped. I loved all of their features and colors. I just thought that they were really cool, and it helped matters that most of my friends loved the He-Man action figures as well. We would always try to get ones the others did not have, so we could all play with as many as possible.

Here we've got a primer on making lovely, eye-catching ornaments that are truly unique.

Here's what you'll need in the way of supplies: a roll of small gauge wire in either a silver or gold finish, a couple of packages of Christmas ornament hangers and a box of a large assortment of different colored and sized beads, which allows you a great many different color combinations. Optionally, you might also want to purchase a length of ribbon - satin, thin lace or wired ribbons work well – to tie a little bow around the top of each of your beaded Christmas ornaments when you're ready to hang them on the tree.
