One of the things that many families are trying to do with out today is medical insurance. This is not because they do not want to have any, it is often because they no longer get it through work and they either do not know that they can get it on their own, or they cannot afford the quotes they have gotten. Today, more focus is put on the fact that people are having trouble getting and keeping insurance. Every family should have this and if you do not, you should find out more about getting medical insurance quotes and what questions to ask when you do.

Medical insurance quotes can be misleading if you do not know much about insurance in general. There are a few very simple things you should first understand and then ask about when you are getting quotes. There are co-pays and deductibles that you have to worry about. Co-pays are what you owe on an appointment that will be covered on your insurance. They do not pay all of it so you are still partially responsible. Things You Probably Don't Know About Home Insurer

Author: Rhoden at 4-05-2012, 02:05, Views: 21

Your home insurer can be one ungrateful company. If you insure with them for 10 years and you’ve never come to them with a claim, it won't make any difference to them. Come to them with one single claim to do with a home burglary or tree damage or something, and they'll fall over themselves to raise your rates in about 5 min.

Sometimes, they don't raise your prices. They'll just offer you less coverage for the same price. Usually, even if you've ever filed a claim in your life, they can do this if something happens and you have to file a couple of quick claims one after the other. Basically, what all this goes to show you is that if you find that you're being given something other than the preferred rate, you should ask them why. They just may be able to move you to the preferred category.

If your home happens to be near a river or the sea, you certainly know that your home insurer will have a higher rate in mind to take you on. There isn’t that much that the insurance regulators can do about this. But there's one thing that your home insurer does that really is illegal.

Should You Bother Getting Cell Phone Insurance?

Author: mbc at 24-04-2012, 07:37, Views: 9

It's almost as if people have a smart phone surgically attached to their phone hand the moment they are born these days. They pick their phone up the moment they wake up in the morning (if they haven't fallen asleep with the phone in their hand the previous night). They pick the phone up first thing in the morning and decide to do something on it with one hand as they go into the bathroom (with the other hand doing God knows what). Which is to say that should you drop the phone into your toilet or something, you're personally out big bucks. Unless you have cell phone insurance.

It's not even going to be the $200 you paid for your iPhone. That's what you pay you get one with a two-year contract. If something should happen to your phone, this time, you have to pay the $600 it really costs. Should you really get cell phone insurance for this?

It costs about $7 a month on average. But it depends on the current carrier you're with. And it's not much money at all, is it? What possibly stops you from buying cell phone insurance?

What the Health Insurance Companies won't Tell You

Author: mbc at 12-04-2012, 08:41, Views: 34

Health insurance companies don't really tell you the whole truth when you buy insurance from them. Of course, you don't need to be reminded that they use all kinds of underhanded methods to get as much money out of you as possible. But you never really realize how much that can be until you actually come down with something.

For instance, if there are expensive medical bills for, say, $80,000, you do know that you have to pay a $4000 annual deductible. That's hardly all there is though. Each doctor's visit you make, there will be a $40 deductible for it. For each test you take, there will be another $300 deductible. If you have something that takes a while to cure, these costs can really add up.

Even when you do have health protection, you still need to stay prepared for all these things. If anything, these costs keep rising every year. The experts reckon that these costs go up about 5% each year. And things are only going to get worse. Employers around the country have plans in the works to shift any coverage they have to a kind that will require their employees to pay even larger deductibles.

Don’t Expect Emergency Rooms to be anything like on ER

Author: Rhoden at 4-04-2012, 05:33, Views: 20

Emergency rooms are glamorous places only on ER. They aren’t all about conscientious doctors who are completely professional, nurses who are heroic and even janitors who strain with every nerve cell to be in service of saving a life and making a child smile. Go to an emergency room when you actually need treatment though, and none of these people will seem to be evidence. As you stand there dripping blood, you'll be asked to be patient and to wait your turn. But only after they get your health insurance number to see if you are actually eligible to live.

Are you supposed actually just be patient the way they ask you? Are you supposed to trust in these impossibly professionally-educated professionals who will know when to call you? There have been 28 hour waits reported emergency room's across the country often. Half a million people over the past year have waited 24 hours at emergency rooms before being treated.

What to do about Insurance Claims Denied by Evil Insurance Companies

Author: mbc at 2-04-2012, 06:51, Views: 17

What you buy homeowners insurance anyway? You buy it because you buy into all the persuasive advertising the insurance companies make about how when something should go wrong, they'll be right there for you. So what you do when you go to all the trouble, and you’re left holding a policy that isn't worth the paper it's printed on, because they won't honor their promise? What you do when you get your insurance claims denied?

The problem with getting your insurance claims denied is not just that you feel like a big sucker for having paid them a premium for no reason. It's also that you probably believed in their promise and thought that you didn’t need to save for a home repair fund or anything. Well, if a tree just fell on your roof, if water pipes burst in your basement and flooded everything, you don't have to live with it just because the insurance company turned out to not entirely be trustworthy enough. You just could get justice.

The first thing you want to do is to review your claim. It can be very hard to do that of course, considering how they fill it with unpronounceable jargon. But you do need to persevere and find out what exactly the reason was that the denied you. You need to first have a proper written explanation from the insurer for why the denied your claim. You then need to look at the policy to make sure that what they're doing is on the level.

Author: mbc at 31-03-2012, 00:07, Views: 8

There's a whole world of healthcare reform out there that people of modest means are waiting for. The hope is that Obamacare will somehow give them a chance to get a foot in in the door in the world of the assured healthcare. Unfortunately though, health insurance fraud – where criminals try to take advantage of poor people who are anxious to buy health insurance, and sell them nonexistent insurance – aren't unheard of. As hard as it might be to believe, scam artists are actually able to sell made-up policies to poorly-informed people just by throwing in words like "ObamaCare". How do you stay clear of health insurance fraud like this?

With any fraudulent deal, the conmen usually try a little too hard to get your attention. Usually, they try to make a deal up for you that's really too good to be true. Just think about how hard it is for you to get health insurance at any regular vendor’s. They ask you a hundred questions, they make you sweat and stammer and so on.

Even when you’re Unemployed, Health Insurance doesn’t have to be out of your Reach

Author: mbc at 30-03-2012, 23:59, Views: 10

Unemployment in this country keeps floating around the 10% mark. To all these jobless people, their health insurance needs can be quite a frightening thing to contemplate. If you're unemployed, health insurance does exist for you. If you are recently unemployed, you can always choose to take advantage of the COBRA legislation – where you choose to continue to make use of your former employer’s insurance plan.

Former government employees who are now unemployed for instance, will find that the government will pay 65% of their COBRA costs for a year and three months. The other 35%, they'll have to find a way to pay themselves. Now everyone knows that when you find yourself newly unemployed, health insurance through the COBRA plan helps you cover yourself for some time. The main concern of course, is this – what do you do once you 15 months are up?

Pres. Obama's healthcare reform of course, will kick in over the next few years and help a great deal with a situation like this. Until then, you have a number of options. If your husband or wife has a job, you can always sign on as a party to that insurance coverage. Get on your spouse’s plan and you'll have the perfect way out. But there's a little problem there – you can only join your spouse’s plan during a short window every year. What do you do if that window doesn't open for a few months?
