Good listening skills do not automatically come. It's a real work. There are two types of listening skills. The first one is intent listening and the other is interact listening. The folowing noticing skills will help you to gain accurate thoughts which your partner want to convey better.

There are activities to promote listening
When you know that people with more information is always getting better results in negotiations, you are motivated to become a better listener. Setting targets for all load of different information that you want to receive from the partner is a smart drilling. The more you learn, the more experience you get. The real chalenge occurs when you push yourself to listen to people you do not want to hear.

If you slip out or do something wrong affecting your relatives’ honor and feelings, compress your pride to apologize sincerely.
