Author: Rhoden at 29-03-2012, 03:35, Views: 33

Watching a television show or a movie is a great way to relax, but it is also a way to make a living for many people. The stars you see on the screen usually make the most money, but there are plenty of hard working people that earn a living by working behind the scenes on many projects and if you think you have what it takes, you can try your hand at any of these careers. Just remember that they are hard to break into and even the best can get passed over without notice. If you are a writer and want to write the next hit TV show or blockbuster movie, you should think about investing in script writing courses.

You can sit down at your keyboard and write the best story around, but that does not mean anyone is going to care to read it. Script writing courses are designed to show you the format and the formula used in turning a great story into a script with the dialog and the actions written correctly so that the actors, directors and crew can all follow them. Without the proper format, the set could be a mess. Therefore, If you submit a story to someone and it is not done properly, they are not going to bother reading it. It could be gold but they will never know it.

What are steps in ‌Writing a Book

Author: mbc at 18-03-2012, 21:19, Views: 26

You want to write a book. You have a few good ideas and you want to see if what you have to offer is good enough to be printed. Most people think about writing a book here and there, but most people do not get far enough to say that they really gave it a good try. There are thousands of unread and unfinished manuscripts sitting in drawers and on computer files out there that are nothing more than a memory to the person who wrote them. If you start with a clear idea of your own steps to writing a book, you have a better chance of sending it out for attention, which is what very few actually do.

Some of the early steps to writing a book include deciding what you want to write and gathering ideas for an entire story. Having a vague idea is not enough, though it is a good place to start. First, you have to think about what you want to write. If you are not sure, think about what you enjoy reading the most. This is usually where you should start and is what you would write about the best. Next, understand that you have to have at least two major plot points, strong characters, and a strong ending that concludes everything with the pages. This is not as easy as it sounds.

Why do you need to Learn to Write an Annotated Bibliography

Author: mbc at 5-03-2012, 19:29, Views: 24

Most people get to first hear of what an annotated bibliography is at some point in school when they are given a research assignment. Often though, there are school assignments with no research involved where students are introduced to the annotated bibliography as a simple standalone assignment.

If the name seems a bit mystifying, you just need to concentrate on the “bibliography” part. A bibliography is just a list of books and sources that an author wishes to declare attribution to when he writes something. It's a way of owning up to using other people's ideas and materials.

Of course, to merely give a list of the books you've used to write an assignment won't really be that useful. How is anyone to know what exactly you used in what part of your book? That's where the annotations come in. Next to each listing in your bibliography, if you could write something about how you came to use source material and what you think of it, you could put things in context – and it could be very useful to readers. And quite simply, that's what an annotated bibliography is all about.

Learn your Way around the Newspaper Birth Announcement

Author: Rhoden at 16-02-2012, 21:50, Views: 67

No, just because you put out a newspaper birth announcement for your brand-new little baby, it doesn't mean there are going to be old-fashioned newsboys standing on every street corner barking the latest news.

It would be nice if a newspaper birth announcement bought you that kind of attention though. Of course, it's never going to make the front page (not unless you happen to have thousands of dollars lying around). But even if all you can afford are a few hundred dollars to bring your announcement to the papers, it can be a great and convenient way of getting word out to friends and family all around.

Actually, a tiny little newspaper birth announcement has been the way it's always been done for decades. Back then, no one had their own printers, of course; and the stores didn't indulge you with birth announcement cards you could fill in yourself. The newspaper birth announcement was how it was done. In fact, it's such a regular thing to do, they'll always ask you at the hospital even today if you want them to take care of the announcement for you. They have all information they need; they just send it to the newspaper, which will just put it in the Births section within the week. They are not written with any creative flourishes and there's no photo. But it is free.

With a little Creativity, Consistency doesn’t have to be a problem to Blog Writers

Author: Rhoden at 17-01-2012, 02:20, Views: 120

If you have a blog and you are lucky enough to have a reasonable number of followers, one of the biggest challenges that you're likely to face as far as that blog is concerned has to be the question of how to find interesting enough material to post on a regular basis.

Being consistent has to be the biggest challenge blog writers have to face. It's not that different from the way people say that getting to the top isn’t all that hard; staying at the top requires superstar levels of performance on a daily basis. That's what's hard.

One of the reasons that blog writers find it very hard to keep to a consistent schedule is that they often overextend themselves. In the beginning, when they have all these ideas and all the enthusiasm to put out three blog posts a week, that hectic level turns that into their schedule. A month on though, that level of innovative writing can be difficult to keep up if you have to do it three times a week.

10 interview skills for reporters

Author: Rhoden at 20-11-2011, 23:56, Views: 76

1. Research topic
It is elementary but not everyone thought when preparing an interview! Some people are just leisurely putting hand in pocket, pointing the recorder to record interviewee and come back home to write news. It is best to understand the problem, first search the latest information as well as background information on that topic from the archives of paper documents, the library or contact other sources.

2. Make available a list of questions
Determine what you want to know from people interviewed and pre-arrange the question asked logically to avoid being messy, haphazard. Intelligent people always have available questions but it is best to just write out the questions in a brief and specific. If you want to carry a document that the interviewees considered, make sure to include a list of related questions. If you want the interviewee to answer or comment on something that is written in a different document, remember to bring a copy or write accurately about it in your journal.
